Published on: 2026/03/17 17:31Last Update: 2026/03/17 17:31

Dear CoinW User,

To comply with regulatory requirements, safeguard your account security, and ensure a smooth verification process, please carefully review the following guidelines before submitting your Proof of Address (PoA).

I. What Is a Proof of Address?

A Proof of Address (PoA) is an official document used to verify your current residential address. The document must clearly show your full legal name, complete residential address and an issue date. All information must match the details on your identity documents you have submitted and your account profile.

II. Accepted Document Types

The following types of document are accepted:

  • Utility Bills: Monthly statements for water, electricity, gas, landline telephone, home broadband, or cable TV.

  • Financial Institution Documents: Bank statements or bank-issued letters, credit card statements, or insurance statements.

  • Government and Tax Documents: Tax invoices, government-issued residence certificates, or other official government documents.

  • Telecommunications Bills: Mobile phone monthly statements.

  • Tenancy Agreements: Limited to serviced apartment or hotel rental agreements. (Additional Requirements: The tenant’s name must match your identity document and the lease term must be one year. The contract expiry date must be at least three months later than the application date.)

III. Documents That Will Not Be Accepted

Your submission will be rejected under the following circumstances:

  • Missing Required Information: The document does not show your full name, complete residential address, or issue date.

  • Unsupported Substitutes: Driver’s licenses, identity cards, and passports cannot be used as Proof of Address.

  • Restricted Address Types: Documents showing only a PO Box or C/O address.

  • Unofficial Sources: Shopping receipts, medical bills, envelopes, postcards, or location photos.

  • Unlicensed Financial Institutions: Statements issued by non-licensed financial service providers (e.g., fintech companies such as Wise).

  • Screen Reproduction: Photos or screenshots taken from a computer or mobile device screen are strictly prohibited.

IV. Document Validity Requirements

The issue date or billing period must be within the past three months. Official documents with a clearly indicated issue date are strongly preferred.

V. File Upload and Compliance Requirements

File Format and Size: We support PDF, JPG, JPEG, and PNG files. Each file must be under 5MB and a maximum of three files can be uploaded.

Document Quality: Documents must be original color scans or photographs. All four corners must be visible, with no stains, marks, glare, or obstructions. If the document is double-sided, both sides must be uploaded.

No Alteration or Editing: Your submitted documents must be clear and complete, showing the document header, your full legal name, complete residential address, issue date or billing period, issuing authority name and logo. The documents must not be altered, edited, redacted, or tampered in any way.

Name Consistency: The name shown on the document must exactly match your legal name on your identity document, including spelling, pinyin/English format, and spacing.
