Sub-Account User Guide

1. Overview of CoinW Sub-Accounts 

CoinW sub-account is a “trade-only account” created by the main account. It is primarily used for optimizing risk management and fund allocation. Sub-accounts do not support deposits or withdrawals. Their trading permissions and account types (asset account, spot account, futures account) are uniformly configured and managed by the main account, allowing users to achieve more refined asset management and trading operations under the same fund system. 

 

2. How to Create a Sub-Account 

Web Version 

  1. Open the CoinW website, click the top-right corner Profile Icon → [Sub-Account] → [Create Sub-Account]. 

 

  1. Enter the SMS verification code and email verification code (depending on your account’s binding settings) → enter a sub-account name → click [Create] → Sub-account created successfully. 

Notes: 

  • The name of a sub-account cannot be modified, and names cannot be duplicated within the same main account. 

  • A newly created sub-account can only log in via account switching. To enable independent login, additional settings are required. 

 

 

 

  1. After creating a sub-account, you can: 

  • Click [Transfer Funds] to instantly transfer assets between the main account and the sub-account. 

  • Click [Switch Account] to quickly enter the sub-account and start trading. 

 

 

Click the Three Dots icon to open a dropdown menu: 

 

[Permission Settings]: Choose the trading permissions for the sub-account. By default, a sub-account only has spot trading permission; futures trading permission must be manually enabled. 

[API Management]: Redirects to the API management page where you can create a sub-account API Key. 

 

[Freeze Sub-Account]: Once frozen, the sub-account cannot log in to the website or trade via the official API. 

 

 

  1. To enable independent login, click [Enable Independent Login]: 

  • Bind the sub-account to an email address and set a login password. 

  • The email must be new and not previously registered with CoinW. 

  • Once completed, the sub-account can log in directly with its email and password. 

 

 

App 

  • The CoinW App does not support sub-account management. Users must first create sub-accounts via the web version before using them on the App. 

Steps on App: 

  1. Log in with the main account → go to Profile icon → tap [Switch Account]. After passing security verification, you will be directed to the account switching page. 

  1. Account switching is not available for sub-accounts logged in separately. 

 

 

 

 

  1. Only the main account can transfer assets between main and sub-accounts. Users can transfer assets between main and sub-accounts.

Q1: How many sub-accounts can I create? 

  • Standard accounts: up to 5 sub-accounts, each with a unique UID. 

  • Institutional accounts: quantity managed according to institutional account policies. 

Q2: Can a withdrawal of funds be made via the sub-account? 

  • No, withdrawals cannot be performed directly from a sub-account. To withdraw, first transfer assets from the sub-account to the main account, then withdraw from the main account. 

  • Sub-accounts can only receive funds via transfers from the main account or crypto deposits. 

Q3: Can I delete a sub-account? 

  • Yes. Click [More] → [Delete Sub-Account] to delete. 

Q4: Can a sub-account log in independently? 

  • Yes, if independent login is enabled. 

  • Requires binding a new email and setting a password. 

  • Deleted account emails can be reused for sub-accounts. 

Q5: Can I use a sub-account for API trading? 

  • Yes. You can generate an API Key for each sub-account.
